Physical Therapy with PPEC
Welcome to Children’s Rehab, a leading provider of Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) services in Florida. Established in 1991, our facility is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children with complex medical needs in a safe and nurturing environment. As a PPEC medical daycare and PPEC physical therapy provider, we specialize in caring for medically fragile children who require skilled nursing care, therapy services, and other medical interventions throughout the day.
PPEC is a program that is prescribed by a physician and is designed for children who require ongoing medical care beyond what can be provided in a traditional daycare setting. PPEC facilities are required to meet specific state licensing and certification requirements in order to provide high-quality care for children with complex medical needs. In Florida, PPEC facilities must adhere to strict regulations and standards set forth by the state’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
At Children’s Rehab PPEC physical therapy is offered as a standalone service to non-PPEC children, and is also provided as part of the holistic care that children receive when they qualify for PPEC. Our team of experienced physical therapists work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child. By integrating physical therapy with other medical services, we strive to improve the overall health and well-being of the children in our care.

Who Qualifies for PPEC
To qualify for PPEC services at Children’s Rehab, children must be between the ages of birth and 20 years old and have medically fragile or complex medical needs. Children must also be medically stable, meaning they do not require ongoing hospitalization or acute care.
In many cases, children who already qualify for home health services may also be eligible for PPEC services. This can include children with chronic medical conditions, respiratory support needs, feeding and hydration needs, and other complex medical needs.
It’s important to note that each child’s eligibility for PPEC services is determined on a case-by-case basis, and eligibility requirements may vary depending on the child’s individual needs and medical history. Our team of care coordinators and case managers work closely with families and physicians to assess each child’s eligibility and develop an individualized care plan that meets their unique needs.
